Day #3 of the Negative-G 2010 Road Trip started with this magnificent view.

In 2009 when Carowinds announced this coaster, Intimidator my first thought was "I MUST ride this" and everyone else thought the same thing so that's where the planning for the Negative-G 2011 Road Trip began.  I mean just look at those hills and curves, man this coaster is sexy and who wouldn't want to take it for a ride.



A few months before the trip I contacted Carowinds just letting them know that a bunch of enthusiasts were headed their way and to see if maybe we could get something like a behind the scenes tour.  I wasn't expecting much but there's nothing wrong with asking. 

A couple of weeks before the trip Carowinds emailed back they'd be happy to give us a half an hour exclusive ride time session on Intimidator.  Carrie was telling me some bad news about some of her characters in World of Warcraft at the time and I blurted out "Holy (expletive deleted) that (expletive deleted) is great!"  Needless to say I had some explaining to do  to her about my actions.  Then I went out to inform Bond who was flying across the back yard on his zip line.  When he heard I wasn't the only person here screaming for joy.



We were led through the crowds who were also waiting to ride and through the gates and up into the station.



As you can see we were all grins to have Intimidator to ourselves for half an hour.  Actually we didn't have the whole coaster to ourselves, we had to share.  We had one train and everyone else had the two other trains.  See, we can play well with others.
