The Blue Two Backyard Coaster March 10, 2006 Page One
It's been a few years since I had the chance to stop by and see John Ivers and check out his famous Blue Flash backyard looping coaster. On Friday work took me right by John's house so on my way home and thankfully armed with the camera on my PDA I stopped by to see John and check out the follow-up coaster to the Blue Flash. You can see the Blue Flash in the background and what has been completed of the new ride. I asked John what he was going to call it and he said that Blue Two was the working title.
As you can see he's changed his track design quite a bit from the Blue Flash. With the Blue Flash and it's Arrow Dynamics styled track it flexed quite a bit causing roughness and needing a lot of maintenance.
For the Blue Two John patterned his track after the type found on Schwarzkopf coasters like Mindbender at Six Flags Over Georgia and Shock Wave at Six Flags Over Texas.
To add to his previous creation The Blue Flash John placed Blue Two's lift hill over the Blue Flash's helix.
