Beech Bend Park Bowling Green, Kentucky Press Conference & 2006 Construction Tour October 28, 2005 Page Three
Jeff took all of us up into the Kentucky Rumbler's structure.
One of the things that Jeff spoke about was how he tries not only to make a great ride but to make it a work of art with the track and structure. I'm no art critic but I like what I see.
They call this part of the coaster "the cathedral" and I'm certain that there are a lot of people are going to be exclaiming to the almighty up there next year when they take the Kentucky Rumbler for a ride.
Jeff explained that the huge round cement footer that all of the supports are attached to here is called the "dead man" because it is buried in the ground and supports all of the outward forces that the train is going to exert going around this turn.
